Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in the design and delivery of mission-critical facilities, preferably data centers. The successful candidate will lead the electrical engineering team, overseeing power distribution, redundancy, and reliability systems to ensure continuous operations. US project experience is considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical engineering design process for large-scale and mission-critical projects, with a focus on data centers.
- Develop electrical design concepts, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and specifications.
- Design and oversee systems including medium- and low-voltage distribution, standby power, UPS systems, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm.
- Ensure redundancy strategies (N+1, 2N, etc.) and high-availability designs are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with international and US codes/standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, UL).
- Perform short-circuit, load flow, arc-flash, and coordination studies.
- Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to electrical engineers and designers.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs during construction.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure installations are aligned with design intent.
- Lead client and stakeholder meetings, presenting technical solutions clearly and confidently.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and quality control for electrical deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the US preferred; international chartered status is an asset.
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a lead role.
- Proven experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of US codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
- Proficiency in electrical design tools (ETAP, SKM Power Tools, Revit MEP, AutoCAD).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under tight deadlines.
