Job Purpose
Coordinate the technical design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems associated with piping (Plant) & pipeline construction projects, review technical deliverables, and provide guidance and support to electrical engineers. Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements while contributing to the safe and reliable operation of electrical infrastructure supporting pipeline facilities.
Job Duties
Electrical Engineering Activities
- Contribute to the development of electrical design requirements for piping (Plant) & pipeline facilities, including valve stations, pump stations, scraper/launcher stations, and control buildings.
- Coordinate and review feasibility studies, load assessments, and electrical risk evaluations to support project decision-making.
- Coordinate the electrical system design under the direction of the Construction Manager/Project Manager, including power distribution, transformer sizing, MCC design, UPS systems, and switchgear components.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, load lists, specifications, and related electrical documentation.
- Support construction teams by clarifying electrical design requirements and addressing engineering queries during installation, energization, and commissioning.
- Participate in inspections, electrical testing, and verification activities (megger tests, continuity checks, functional tests) to ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements.
- Review grounding and lightning protection system designs for pipeline stations and ensure adherence to applicable standards.
- Support evaluations of electrical equipment performance and contribute to recommendations related to upgrades, replacements, or maintenance.
- Lead on the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment across pipeline facilities.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Pipeline, Mechanical, Civil, I&C, QA/QC, Procurement, Operations) to resolve electrical-related technical issues and support smooth project execution.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, FAT/SAT activities, and electrical engineering workshops (HAZID, constructability reviews).
- Stay updated with industry advancements, codes, and regulations related to pipeline design, construction, and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 810 years of Electrical engineering experience in Oil & Gas projects, with strong exposure to piping (Plant) & pipeline construction.
- In-Depth Knowledge of Electrical Design Codes, Standards, and Regulations.
- Proficiency in Electrical Design Software and Engineering Tools.
- Solid knowledge of power distribution, grounding systems, MCCs, transformers, switchgear, and electrical equipment used in pipeline facilities.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, cable routing plans, equipment datasheets, and technical specifications.
