Job Description

Position Overview

The Senior Electrical Site Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and executing all electrical works on-site in line with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirements. The role ensures timely project delivery, compliance with safety and quality standards, and smooth coordination with contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Supervision

  • Oversee daily site electrical activities including installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Ensure all works are carried out as per approved IFC drawings, technical specifications, local authority regulations, and international standards (IEC, NEC, BS, etc.).
  • Monitor progress of electrical works, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective measures.
  • Supervise subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality and safety protocols.
  • Verify and approve material inspections, method statements, shop drawings, and work permits.

Technical Duties

  • Review electrical design drawings, shop drawings, and coordination drawings for accuracy and constructability.
  • Ensure proper installation of electrical systems such as:
  • LV/MV distribution systems
  • Power and lighting systems
  • Fire alarm, emergency lighting, and life safety systems
  • ELV systems (CCTV, access control, BMS, data networks, etc.)
  • Earthing and lightning protection systems
  • Generator, UPS, and renewable energy (if applicable)
  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Carry out troubleshooting and resolve technical issues on-site.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of electrical systems and prepare related reports.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and architectural teams to avoid clashes and ensure smooth execution.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and local authorities for inspections and approvals.
  • Lead regular site meetings with project stakeholders to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare daily/weekly site progress reports for project management.
  • Ensure proper documentation of material submittals, RFIs, inspection requests, and as-built drawings.
  • Track project schedules, manpower allocation, and resource utilization.
  • Verify contractor's progress claims and assist in variation orders.

Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)

  • Enforce adherence to HSE regulations on-site and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ensure permits-to-work are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred but not mandatory).
  • Professional Engineer certification or membership in a recognized engineering body is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 1015 years of experience in electrical engineering with at least 45 years in a senior/site supervisory role.
  • HEALTH CARE PROJECT EXPERIENCE is a must

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and local authority regulations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), MS Office, and project management software.
  • Familiarity with testing tools, measuring instruments, and commissioning procedures.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Team-oriented with mentoring skills to guide junior engineers.
