Senior Embedded Systems Lead Xilinx / FPGA

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Systems Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Xilinx / AMD FPGA platforms, bare-metal development, and embedded systems running on RTOS or Embedded Linux.

The role will combine deep technical ownership with system-level leadership across embedded software, FPGA integration, hardware/software interfaces, testing and validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software development on Xilinx / AMD FPGA and SoC platforms
• Develop and maintain bare-metal firmware for low-level embedded applications
• Integrate FPGA-based systems with software running on RTOS and/or Embedded Linux
• Develop and debug embedded C/C++ applications, drivers, BSPs and low-level interfaces
• Support hardware bring-up, board-level debugging and HW/SW integration
• Work across the full development lifecycle from requirements and architecture through implementation, integration, testing and validation
• Interface with FPGA, hardware, systems and software engineering teams
• Support debugging of timing, communication, memory and interface-related issues
• Contribute to technical architecture, design reviews and engineering best practices
• Mentor engineers while remaining strongly hands-on technically

Required Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Xilinx / AMD FPGA platforms
• Proven bare-metal embedded development experience
• Strong embedded C / C++
• Experience integrating FPGA systems with RTOS and/or Embedded Linux
• Good understanding of BSPs, device drivers, bootloaders and low-level interfaces
• Strong experience in hardware/software integration and debugging
• Experience with platforms such as Zynq, Zynq UltraScale+, MicroBlaze, Versal or similar
• Strong understanding of embedded system architecture and real-time constraints
• Ability to take technical ownership from design through validation

Preferred

• Defence, aerospace or other safety-/mission-critical systems experience
• FPGA development or close collaboration with FPGA/VHDL/Verilog teams
• Imaging, camera or sensor-processing systems experience
• Experience leading or mentoring embedded engineering teams
