JOB TITLE: SENIOR ENGINEER – COMMISSIONING-Telecom

Job Purpose;

The Senior Telecom Commissioning Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and documenting the pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and handover activities of all telecommunication systems within the project scope. The role ensures telecom systems are installed, tested, integrated, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, company standards, applicable codes, and operational requirements

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning Planning & Preparation

• Review telecom engineering deliverables, datasheets, vendor documentation, and system architecture drawings.
• Develop commissioning procedures, Method Statements, Commissioning Test Sheets (CTS), and System Completion dossiers.
• Support preparation of Commissioning Execution Plans and systemization activities.
• Define telecom subsystem boundaries and handover milestones.
  
  

Pre-Commissioning Activities

• Verify installation completion against AFC drawings and specifications.
• Conduct mechanical completion inspections and punch list verification.
• Ensure proper cable termination, labeling, grounding, and continuity testing.
• Witness and review:
• Fiber optic testing (OTDR)
• Copper cable testing
• Loop checks
• Power-up activities
• Equipment inspections
• Equipment inspections
• Coordinate with construction and quality teams for punch close-out.
