Senior Engineer-Roads Urban Design (Only UAE National)

Job Purpose

Manage the planning and execution of road urban design projects by reviewing design submissions, supervising on-site works, and ensuring full compliance with technical standards. Champion sustainable, high-quality urban design that supports Dubai's vision for pedestrian-friendly, cohesive, and aesthetically appealing road infrastructure.

Strategy

• Guide project studies and technical specifications for road urban design, ensuring alignment
• with urban design frameworks and sustainability principles.
• Review and contribute to internal design development, defining methods and standards for
• effective road urban design implementation.

Operations

• Oversee the review of contractor submitted designs and drawings for road urban design,
• ensuring accuracy and compliance with technical requirements.
• Conduct site visits to validate implementation against approved urban design, materials, and

1. specifications.

• Coordinate the design and execution of compensatory and remaining areas impacted by road
• works in accordance with Dubai Municipality agreements.
• Manage the handover of completed urban design scopes to relevant departments per RTA

1. protocols and procedures.

• Manage a range of supporting activities for the section, including the preparation and
• coordination of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), compilation of ad-hoc and periodic
• reports as requested by higher management. Ensure all such activities are executed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with organizational objectives and standards.
• Track project study follow-ups and ensure cost allocations are consistent with approved

1. budgets and contractual expectations.

Product / Process Improvement

• Develop work methodologies for external contractors to improve the preparation and quality
• of studies, drawings, and urban design designs.
• Participate in the creation and refinement of policies, manuals, and aesthetic guidelines that

1. govern public art, signage, and beautification within road infrastructure.

Physical Working Conditions

• Role demands regular site presence to oversee complex urban design scopes, review
• contractor execution, validate compliance with urban design and sustainability criteria, and
• coordinate with stakeholders during project implementation and handover phases.

Job Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree/master's degree in architectural engineering or urban

planning or civil engineering or electrical engineering or relevant engineering field

• Experience: 3+ year in case of master's degree (4+ years of in case of bachelor's degree) in related field
