Senior Engineer, Rotating Equipment (Eng Serv TM- Rota Equip TM-Gas Ops

JOB PURPOSE

Provide technical expertise in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul and shutdowns to maintain
rotating equipment effectively and efficiently to achieve high degree of availability, reliability and integrity for
plant production.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintenance Planning, Execution and Expertise
u2022 Supervise the installation, maintenance, repair, trouble shooting and modification activities of rotating
equipment in the plant to ensure safe and efficient services.
u2022 Review preventive maintenance plans / schedules and prepare task list / maintenance programmes for
rotating equipment in the plant and supervise the execution of such programmes.
u2022 Provide guidance and advice on actions to be taken on chronic problems, and review requirement for
major repair and spares replacements to ensure that all equipment is in accordance with internationally
recognized engineering standard.
u2022 Participate in Risk Assessment exercises and prepare recommendations and guidelines to address the
mitigations and controls.
u2022 Ensure availability of spares, coordinate and follow-up new material orders. Create new proposal for
stocking spares (PFS) mainly for new equipment, create item change request, spare parts control, and
delete unwanted inventories from the stock.
u2022 Prepare new maintenance procedures, method statement for new activities and schedule long term
activities as per plant shutdown schedules.
u2022 Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with other departments and sections to optimize the
utilization of section manpower and to plan and control the major & minor shutdown activities and
expenditures.
u2022 Provide technical support for development, implementation and commissioning of new projects in the
mechanical design and specifications to optimize costs and ensure compliance with applicable
standards and best practices.
u2022 Prepare new plant change requests (PCR), study the proposed PCR for implementation and work out
plans and schedules for implementing them.
u2022 Participate in HAZOP review and SIL validation meetings.
u2022 Carry out study for major rotating equipment frequent failures and provide recommendations.
u2022 Participate in RCA for incidents related to rotating equipment and provide findings and
recommendations.
Supervision
u2022 Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
u2022 Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job
and deliver the respective functional objectives.
Budgets
u2022 Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved
Budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.
u2022 Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

u2022 Implement approved Section / Team / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and
procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International
standards.

u2022 Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the
Company Performance framework.

u2022 Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational
processes.
u2022 Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line
with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualification
u2022 Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Professional Qualification.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
u2022 8 years of experience in engineering and maintenance of Rotating equipment within a large industrial
organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
u2022 Extensive experience in rotating equipment design, engineering, construction and maintenance and
operation in the oil and gas industry.
u2022 Familiarity of international design codes and standards, you will have the ability to prepare design,
procurement, construction, (pre) commissioning and hand-over specification packages for rotating
equipment
u2022 Familiarity of the capabilities and shortcomings of major rotating equipment manufacturers, and a
proven track record of conducting technical and commercial negotiations with them
u2022 Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices
u2022 Planning and Organising, Scheduling and Coordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording
