Role Purpose
The Senior ERP Financial Technical Consultant is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and enhancing finance-related capabilities within Microsoft Dynamics 365 across SIAD. The role bridges Finance, IT, and business operations to ensure that Dynamics 365 is configured, integrated, and supported in a way that improves financial control, reporting accuracy, automation, and user discipline.
The consultant is expected to reduce manual workarounds, improve data reliability, strengthen configurations, and help build a more controlled and efficient finance operation within Dynamics 365.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dynamics 365 Finance Support and Optimization
· Provide techno-functional support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and related finance processes.
· Support users across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank Management, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, intercompany accounting, financial dimensions, and reporting.
· Investigate finance-related issues, analyze root causes, and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
· Ensure system behavior aligns with finance policy, operational needs, and management reporting requirements.
2. Configuration and Functional-Technical Enhancement
· Support configuration and enhancement of posting profiles, financial dimensions, workflows, number sequences, approval structures, and tax setup.
· Translate business and finance requirements into practical Dynamics 365 solutions.
· Review existing configurations and identify gaps affecting controls, automation, and reporting quality.
· Recommend improvements that reduce manual intervention and improve finance discipline.
3. Reporting, Data Extraction, and Financial Visibility
· Develop and improve finance reports, data extracts, and dashboards from Dynamics 365.
· Support reporting through standard D365 inquiries and workspaces, financial reporting tools, Power BI, and controlled Excel extracts where needed.
· Improve visibility over P&L, balance sheet, receivables aging, payables aging, bank position, budget versus actual, entity performance, and intercompany balances.
· Reduce dependence on unmanaged manual reporting files.
4. Integration and Interface Management
· Support integration between Dynamics 365 and related business systems such as hospitality platforms, booking systems, procurement solutions, payroll, banking platforms, POS, and BI tools.
· Validate financial posting logic from source systems into Dynamics 365.
· Monitor integration failures, posting mismatches, data discrepancies, and reconciliation gaps.
· Coordinate with developers, vendors, and infrastructure teams on APIs, data flows, and interface troubleshooting.
5. Data Migration, Master Data, and Data Quality
· Support finance data migration, mapping, validation, and cleanup during implementation or enhancement phases.
· Strengthen governance over chart of accounts, vendors, customers, financial dimensions, opening balances, fixed assets, and bank accounts.
· Identify duplicates, mapping errors, incomplete records, and bad historical data affecting finance operations.
6. Testing, Release, and Change Control
· Prepare and execute test cases for finance-related enhancements and fixes in Dynamics 365.
· Support system integration testing and user acceptance testing for all finance-related changes.
· Ensure proper issue logging, defect tracking, documentation, sign-off, and release readiness before production deployment.
· Support post-release stabilization and controlled change management.
7. User Support, Training, and Adoption
· Provide day-to-day support to finance users and key business stakeholders.
· Train users on proper use of Dynamics 365 finance processes and controls.
· Prepare SOPs, process notes, user guides, and issue-resolution documentation.
· Reduce off-system workarounds and improve disciplined system usage.
8. Security, Controls, and Governance
· Support role-based access, segregation of duties, approval workflows, and audit trail requirements within Dynamics 365.
· Work with Finance, Internal Audit, and IT to strengthen control design and user-role governance.
· Support month-end and year-end closing activities from a systems and controls perspective.
Candidate Profile
Education
· Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
· Microsoft Dynamics certifications are preferred.
· Finance or accounting background is a strong advantage.
Experience
· 6-10+ years of relevant ERP experience.
· Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance support, implementation, enhancement, or techno-functional consulting.
· Experience in group structures, holding companies, multi-entity operations, or shared-service models is preferred.
· Exposure to hospitality, travel, tourism, services, or diversified business groups is a strong advantage.
