Position: Senior Estimator

Location: Crystal Offshore Middle East Khalifa Port
Reports to: Commercial Manager
Role Summary
Responsible for estimation and tendering for offshore rig, jack-up, marine vessel, and EPCIC refurbishment scopes. Ensures accurate cost estimates, technical compliance, and competitive proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end estimation for major repair, SPS, life-extension, and EPCIC tender packages.
- Interpret technical drawings, rig inspection reports, class requirements and client SOWs.
- Perform detailed cost build-ups: manpower, material, equipment, subcontractors, consumables, logistics, craneage, scaffolding, blasting/painting, steel renewal, mechanical/electrical scopes.
- Prepare WBS aligned estimates and pricing sheets.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, procurement, and planning for inputs.
- Obtain and negotiate subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare tender clarifications, TQs, assumptions, and exclusions.
- Support negotiation meetings with clients.
- Maintain cost databases and historical benchmarks.
- Support project handover to operations after contract award.
Required Experience
- 712 years estimation experience in shipyards, offshore rigs, EPCIC, fabrication, or marine projects.
- Strong understanding of MOPU upgrades, SPS requirements, coating systems, E&I scopes, steel renewal, hull works, cranes, jacking systems, BOP handling, etc.
- Ability to prepare multi-million USD tender submissions independently.
Skills
- Advanced Excel (pivot, formulas, costing models).
- Strong technical reading (P&ID, GA, structural drawings).
- Commercial negotiation skills.
- Excellent written English (letters, clarifications, assumptions).
- Able to work under pressure with changing scopes and urgent timelines.
