Versatile Group is an integrated construction, development, and deign group operating across Australia and the UAE. Our National Estimating and Cost Planning function supports complex construction and development programmes from early-stage concept budgeting through to tender and award.
We are growing our UAE-based estimating capability to directly support the Australian delivery pipeline. This is a technically demanding, high-visibility role within a professionally structured and internationally connected team.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator based in Dubai to work as an integral part of our Australia-facing estimating team. Operating remotely from the UAE, you will lead cost estimating across all design stages from concept through to construction documents on Australian construction and fit-out projects.
This is a senior, independently driven role. You will own the estimating process end-to-end: quantity take-offs, BOQ measurement, tender preparation, subcontractor engagement, and cost planning support all within a structured remote working model aligned with Sydney business hours.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Prepare accurate BOQ measurements and quantity take-offs across all project types including construction, fit-out, and refurbishment
- Produce detailed cost estimates across all design stages: Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents
- Review and interpret construction documents, specifications, and drawings to define scope and pricing strategy
- Collaborate with project, and design, through National Estimating and Cost Planning management teams to ensure estimate accuracy, value engineering, and programme alignment
- Prepare and submit tenders on time; conduct post-tender analysis and implement learnings into future bids
- Develop and maintain a structured library of pricing benchmarks, subcontractor data, and productivity metrics
- Drive continuous improvement in estimating standards, procedures, and reporting tools
- Coordinate daily handover with the Sydney-based team (3pm5pm AEST), ensuring seamless remote integration
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
- 1215 years construction estimating experience, including major project and multi-stage delivery
- Demonstrated BOQ measurement, quantity take-off, and tender estimating capability across complex scopes
- Proven ability to prepare estimates across all design stages Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents
- RICS qualified: MRICS or AssocRICS (applications without RICS accreditation will not be progressed)
You will also bring:
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to challenge cost assumptions constructively
- High accuracy and discipline in measuring and estimating methodology and documentation
- Proficiency in estimating software (Cubit Pro or equivalent) and MS Office suite
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate effectively within a remote, cross-timezone team
- A working knowledge of Australian construction and measurements standards, market conditions, and subcontractor structures (or a demonstrated ability to acquire this quickly)
- Self-directed work ethic and strong time management to meet Australian tender deadlines from the UAE
