Role Purpose
The Senior Facultative Broker is a key member of the Broking & Technical Placement team, responsible for delivering high -quality facultative and treaty reinsurance solutions for Shory Res
clients.
The role encompasses the design, marketing, and execution of competitive reinsurance placements
that reflect client risk profiles, Shory Re's governance framework, and FSRA regulatory standards.
The focus of the broker will be on one or more lines of business. The core lines being Property ,
Casualty , Construction & Engineering (CAR/EAR) , Marine, Aviation & Transport or Professional Lines .
Responsibilities include sourcing and securing capacity from leading regional and international
reinsurers, preparing and validating technical documentation (slips, cover notes, and TOBAs), and
providing client -focused advisory services. Beyond execution, the role supports Shory Re's strategic growth and revenue objectives by:
• Developing new facultative capacity to meet client and market needs.
• Identifying opportunities for market expansion across lines and territories.
• Maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and client service to sustain long -
term relationships and market reputation.
This dual focus ensures the Technical Reinsurance Broker contributes to both operational excellence and sustainable business growth.
Key Reponsibilities
Reinsurance Placement & Market Liaison
• Source, negotiate, and secure facultative placements in the core business lines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with A -rated global reinsurers and Lloyd's syndicates.
• Identify opportunities to expand Shory Re's reinsurance market footprint and product offering.
• Support the development of new facultative capacity in line with company growth objectives.
Technical Documentation & Administration
• Prepare and validate slips, cover notes, and other reinsurance agreements with full accuracy.
• Maintain complete, auditable placement files, including client approvals and market communications.
• Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and internal governance standards.
Cedant Advisory & Client Service
• Develop structured recommendations with clear rationale and market comparison.
• Provide post -placement support, including endorsements, renewals, and reinsurer liaison.
• Uphold the highest standards of client -first conduct in all communications and transactions.
Compliance & Governance
• Conduct all activities in full compliance with FSRA regulations and company policies.
• Escalate potential breaches, conflicts, or risk incidents promptly.
• Maintain mandatory training and ongoing professional development to ensure fitness and propriety.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk, or Finance
• ACII or equivalent preferred
Experience:
• Minimum 6 years in reinsurance broking or technical placement.
• Demonstrable experience in one or more of the core classes of business.
• Exposure to GCC and international reinsurance markets essential
Skills:
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and market relationship skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reinsurance placement platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of reinsurance market practices and FSRA regulatory expectations.
• Deep technical knowledge in one or more of the core classes of business
