Overview
Our client, investment banking; key business lines are global trade execution and securities custody, corporate finance advisory and capital raising.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and manage the Company's financial plan, including multi-year forecasts, scenario models, and stress testing.
- Partner with the CEO to align financial strategy with capital deployment, investor returns, and business performance objectives.
- Lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements and regulatory returns in accordance with DFSA and DIFC requirements (including PIBs, ICAAP and IRAP).
- Manage all aspects of financial control, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, treasury, and reconciliations.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with DFSA prudential rules, including capital adequacy, liquidity, and client money segregation and reconciliation requirements.
- Develop and maintain robust internal control frameworks to safeguard firm assets and ensure data integrity.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Provide accurate, timely, and insightful management reporting to the SEO, Board of Directors and shareholders, including monthly reporting packs.
- Coordinate external audits.
- Monitor working capital, balance sheet health, and liquidity to support business continuity and growth.
- Support the design and implementation of accounting systems, automation tools, and financial process enhancements.
- Ensure statutory filings, audits, and tax obligations are met in the UAE and UK.
- Oversee all treasury operations including cash management and intercompany transfers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 7+ years of progressive financial control or finance management experience in financial services, preferably within a DFSA or other Tier 1 regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of DFSA prudential reporting, IFRS, and DIFC regulatory frameworks
- ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification required.
- Proven experience in managing financial reporting, audits, and regulatory filings for brokerage or investment firms.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency with financial systems, management reporting tools, and advanced Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively with regulators, executives, and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
