Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Financial & GL Accountant is responsible for managing the general ledger and ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, UAE Corporate Tax Law, and Transfer Pricing regulations. The role requires strong expertise in related party transactions, intercompany accounting, and transfer pricing documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Ledger & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant accounting records.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Review and approve journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review standalone and group financial statements in accordance with IFRS.

2. Related Party Transactions (RPT)

  • Manage end-to-end accounting for all related party transactions in line with UAE regulations.
  • Ensure proper identification, recording, and disclosure of related party balances and transactions.
  • Maintain intercompany agreements, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS disclosure requirements and UAE regulatory guidelines.

3. Intercompany & Group Accounting

  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations, confirmations, and settlements.
  • Resolve intercompany differences and ensure timely balances closure.
  • Support group reporting and consolidation activities.

4. Compliance, Audit & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with UAE statutory requirements, Corporate Tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, particularly on RPT and transfer pricing matters.
  • Support tax audits, FTA reviews, and regulatory filings.
  • Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.

5. Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of GL accountants.
  • Provide technical guidance on IFRS, RPT, and transfer pricing matters.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualification: CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA is preferred.
  • Experience: 810 years of accounting experience, with strong exposure to:
  • General Ledger accounting.
  • Related party and intercompany transactions.
  • Transfer pricing within the UAE or multinational groups.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Technical: Strong knowledge of IFRS and hands-on experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Analytical: Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Leadership: Proactive and hands-on leadership style with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
