Senior Financial Lines Underwriter MENA

The Opportunity

Are you someone with a strong underwriting background, with knowledge of the MENA market and of all Financial Lines products The role suits an experienced underwriter who enjoys underwriting and trading in a very dynamic market, with the desire to learn and grow a profitable portfolio in a very strong and resilient team.

Reporting to the Financial Lines Manager MENA, you will be underwriting all Financial Lines risks/products and will be engaging with all of Chubb's main RI partners. We are looking for someone with a strong technical underwriting background, and a strong understanding of the main Financial Lines products.

Your responsibility will include underwriting in line with Chubb's appetite and guidelines, preparing quotes, and supporting the manager with administrative and operational tasks to help maximize workflow efficiency and profitability. You will also be expected to represent Chubb externally and internally, engaging with a range of stakeholders, including but not limiting to, senior management, clients, RI brokers, cedents, and direct brokers.

Your Responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

• Represent and promote Chubb across the region at all levels, engaging effectively with brokers, cedents, clients, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Enhance Chubb's visibility and market presence by developing external market awareness, adapting strategies to changing market dynamics, and consistently delivering exceptional service.
• Underwrite all Financial Lines products in line with Chubb's appetite and guidelines.
• Optimize performance to support the delivery of Chubb MENA's business targets.
• Develop and manage Financial Lines underwriting tasks and responsibilities.
• Contribute to the development of technical understanding of current and emerging risks, opportunities, and customer needs.
• Review policy wordings.
• Identify and pursue profitable opportunities in the market.
• Support task optimization and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

What skills & experience are required

• Ability to engage and influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of the MENA market.
• Excellent communications skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and solve issues using own initiative
• A professional who is recognized by the market that exudes all qualities expected of a Chubb Underwriter
• Relationships with reinsurance and direct brokers
• Strong technical underwriting knowledge
• ACII or progress towards is preferred though not essential
• Fluent in English (Arabic and/or French advantageous)
