Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join our finance team.
This role will play a critical part in shaping our financial strategy and supporting key business decisions through detailed analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Data Management, Integrity & Close Activities
- Maintain and manage financial databases to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Perform regular data entry, validation, and updates to ensure data reliability.
- Verify P&L and General Ledger data, identifying discrepancies and ensuring alignment with accounting principles.
- Monitor month-end close activities, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and resolution of outstanding issues.
- Analyze trial balances to identify misallocations and reallocate expenses across departments and projects as needed.
Financial Analysis, Variance Review & Modeling
- Analyze and interpret financial data to develop subject matter expertise.
- Conduct trend analysis and deep-dive reviews to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
- Identify and research variances between actuals, budgets, forecasts, and prior-year results.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend improvement and cost optimization opportunities.
- Develop financial models and analytical reports to support operational and strategic decisions.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Partnership
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts aligned with business objectives.
- Gather, analyze, and validate financial data in coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Partner with departments to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic goals.
Executive Reporting & Communication
- Prepare regular financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
- Highlight key trends, variances, risks, and performance metrics in a clear and effective manner.
- Ensure financial information is communicated accurately and supports informed decision-making.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience
- 5 - 7 years of experience in financial analysis or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in financial databases and reporting tools.
- Advanced analytical skills, with experience in variance analysis and financial modeling.
Skills
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
