Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join our finance team.

This role will play a critical part in shaping our financial strategy and supporting key business decisions through detailed analysis, forecasting, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Data Management, Integrity & Close Activities

  • Maintain and manage financial databases to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Perform regular data entry, validation, and updates to ensure data reliability.
  • Verify P&L and General Ledger data, identifying discrepancies and ensuring alignment with accounting principles.
  • Monitor month-end close activities, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Analyze trial balances to identify misallocations and reallocate expenses across departments and projects as needed.

Financial Analysis, Variance Review & Modeling

  • Analyze and interpret financial data to develop subject matter expertise.
  • Conduct trend analysis and deep-dive reviews to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and research variances between actuals, budgets, forecasts, and prior-year results.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend improvement and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Develop financial models and analytical reports to support operational and strategic decisions.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Partnership

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts aligned with business objectives.
  • Gather, analyze, and validate financial data in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with departments to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic goals.

Executive Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare regular financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
  • Highlight key trends, variances, risks, and performance metrics in a clear and effective manner.
  • Ensure financial information is communicated accurately and supports informed decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in financial analysis or related roles.
  • Strong proficiency in financial databases and reporting tools.
  • Advanced analytical skills, with experience in variance analysis and financial modeling.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
