Job Summary
We are looking for a highly organized and analytical Senior Foreign Buyer & Planner to join Ariika's Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing international purchasing activities, demand planning, inventory optimization, and supplier relationships to ensure product availability while maintaining cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute purchasing plans for imported products based on demand forecasts and inventory requirements.
- Manage relationships with international suppliers and negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and commercial agreements.
- Create, review, and maintain purchase orders while ensuring timely placement and follow-up until delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and demand trends to optimize stock availability and minimize excess inventory.
- Coordinate with logistics, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth shipment execution and on-time arrivals.
- Track supplier performance, including delivery reliability, quality, and responsiveness, and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Product Development, Finance, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to align purchasing plans with business priorities.
- Analyze sales, forecasts, and inventory data to identify replenishment needs and purchasing opportunities.
- Manage supplier lead times and proactively mitigate supply chain risks and potential disruptions.
- Prepare procurement reports, inventory analysis, KPIs, and recommendations for management.
- Continuously identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in foreign purchasing, demand planning, or supply chain.
- Experience within retail, furniture, home décor, or consumer goods is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international sourcing, import procedures, and inventory planning.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Odoo experience is a plus).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with suppliers across Asia and other international markets.
- Good understanding of forecasting techniques and inventory optimization.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, international trade regulations, customs documentation, and shipping processes.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
