Amius is looking for an experienced FX Sales professional to join our Singapore team and play a key role in developing and growing our FX business across the Asia-Pacific region.
The successful candidate will have an established understanding of the FX markets and experience managing corporate or institutional client relationships. They will be commercially minded, entrepreneurial and comfortable working in a smaller, highly responsive organisation where they will have autonomy to develop new business.
The role will focus on building and managing client relationships across APAC, identifying clients FX risk-management requirements and working closely with our Sales and Trading teams to provide tailored solutions across Spot, Forwards, NDFs, Swaps, Vanilla Options and Structured Derivatives.
This is an opportunity for an experienced salesperson to play a significant role in building the APAC FX franchise, alongside managing an established client book.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and grow a new and existing client network across APAC, with a particular focus on corporate and other clients with genuine FX hedging requirements
- Originate new business by identifying potential clients, developing relationships with decision-makers and converting opportunities into trading relationships
- Manage and deepen existing client relationships, acting as a trusted commercial partner in understanding and managing their FX exposures
- Identify client requirements and work with the Trading team to develop tailored FX hedging and structured derivative solutions
- Provide clients with market intelligence, including updates on FX markets, macroeconomic developments, central-bank policy and factors affecting relevant currencies
- Develop a strong understanding of clients underlying businesses and risk profiles in order to identify opportunities for broader hedging solutions
- Collaborate closely with Trading, Credit, Risk and Operations to ensure efficient execution and ongoing management of client positions
- Negotiate and execute FX transactions, including more complex and structured derivatives, while maintaining a strong focus on client suitability, commercial outcomes and risk
- Monitor client positions, exposures, collateral and margin requirements and work with internal teams to ensure appropriate management of trading relationships
- Represent the organisation at industry conferences, client meetings and other relevant events to build the company's profile and develop the APAC network
- Contribute to the development of the organisation's Singapore and wider APAC strategy, including identifying attractive markets, client segments and potential new business opportunities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues globally, sharing market intelligence and identifying opportunities to introduce clients to the organisation's broader derivatives capabilities
Job requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- 7–12+ years experience in FX markets, ideally in FX sales, brokerage, derivatives sales or a similar client-facing role
- Strong existing network of corporate, commercial or institutional FX clients across Singapore and/or the wider APAC region
- Demonstrable track record of originating and developing new client relationships and generating trading revenue
- Strong understanding of FX products, including Spot, Forwards, NDFs, Swaps and Options
- Experience with, or a strong understanding of, structured derivatives and tailored hedging solutions
- Good understanding of FX markets, macroeconomic drivers and the practical application of derivatives to corporate risk management
- Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to understand a client's underlying business and translate its risk-management requirements into appropriate financial solutions
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of developing a regional business
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in a smaller, fast-moving organisation
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a strong focus on building long-term client relationships
- Willingness to travel as required for client development and relationship building
- Additional languages are a plus
Desirable Experience
- Experience selling structured FX derivatives and/or bespoke corporate hedging solutions
- Existing relationships with corporates, commodity businesses, trading companies or other clients with significant FX exposures
- Experience covering emerging or developing APAC FX markets
- Experience working closely with derivatives Trading and/or Structuring teams
- Understanding of commodities or commodity-linked businesses would be advantageous
- Experience building a client franchise or geographic business with a high degree of autonomy
