Position: Senior General Accountant
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior General Accountant with proven experience in the UAE market. The ideal candidate will oversee all accounting operations, ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations, and provide accurate and timely financial reports to management to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT laws, including filing and reconciliation.
- Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and financial transactions.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes accurately and on time.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure audit requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Develop and implement internal accounting policies and controls.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff when required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 - 6 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of UAE accounting standards and VAT regulations.
- Full awareness and experience with E-commerce sales and their related documentation and accounting cycle.
- Previous experience in importing goods from abroad, including handling related financial transactions and documentation.
- Solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Knowledge of consigned inventory (inventory held by third parties) and how to monitor and control it effectively.
- Familiarity with handling commission structures and deductions related to online platforms and marketplaces
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
