Senior Geotechnical Engineer - UAE

The Geotechnical Engineer role is a full-time, site-based position. The Geotechnical Engineer will lead and support geotechnical investigations, analysis, design, and construction-stage technical services for building, infrastructure, excavation, foundation, retaining-structure, and earthworks projects.

Responsibilities include planning and reviewing ground investigations; interpreting borehole logs, laboratory results, and geotechnical data; and preparing geotechnical design recommendations and technical reports. The role will perform and review soil and rock analyses, bearing-capacity assessments, settlement calculations, slope-stability studies, excavation-support designs, foundation recommendations, retaining-wall assessments, and ground-improvement solutions.

The Geotechnical Engineer will collaborate closely with civil, structural, architectural, and construction teams to ensure that ground conditions and geotechnical constraints are properly addressed in design and execution. The role includes reviewing contractor submissions, conducting site inspections, monitoring excavation and foundation works, resolving construction-stage geotechnical issues, and providing practical technical guidance that supports safe, efficient, and cost-effective project delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Geotechnical Engineering

•

Minimum of 10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience in building, infrastructure, civil works, or major construction projects.

•

Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, engineering geology, foundation engineering, earthworks, retaining structures, excavation support, and slope stability.

•

Demonstrated experience planning, supervising, or reviewing geotechnical site investigations, including boreholes, trial pits, in-situ testing, sampling, and laboratory testing programmes.

•

Proven ability to interpret geotechnical investigation data and prepare clear technical reports, design recommendations, and construction-stage assessments.

•

Experience in shallow and deep foundation design, bearing-capacity and settlement analysis, piling, shoring, dewatering, ground improvement, and temporary works is preferred.

•

Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software; familiarity with PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Rocscience, or equivalent tools is an advantage.

•

Knowledge of relevant international and local geotechnical design codes, standards, and construction practices.

•

Strong technical-report writing, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

•

Demonstrated ability to perform site inspections, identify geotechnical risks, provide practical construction solutions, and take ownership of technical deliverables.

Salary Range: 30,000-40,000 AED
