We are seeking an exceptional
Senior Golang Engineer to architect and scale the core infrastructure powering our
Online Travel Agency (OTA)(Hojuzat). You will be building the high-performance backend systems that process millions of daily flight and hotel searches, aggregate live inventory from dozens of global suppliers, and return unified results to our users in milliseconds.
This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, aggressive caching strategies, and highly concurrent execution. You will tackle complex challenges—such as standardizing massive datasets from disparate travel APIs, implementing scatter-gather patterns for real-time pricing, and ensuring sub-second response times across a global inventory of hotels and flights.
Key Responsibilities
- Sub-Second Search Architecture: Architect and optimize our core search engine to instantly query millions of hotel properties, room types, and flight itineraries. Utilize memory-efficient data structures and search indices (e.g., Elasticsearch, Redis) to ensure strict low-latency SLAs.
- Supplier & GDS Integrations: Build fault-tolerant integrations with external travel suppliers, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), and bedbanks (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, Hotelbeds, Expedia Affiliate). Handle complex mappings, rate limits, and slow third-party responses gracefully using circuit breakers and timeouts.
- Concurrent Data Aggregation: Leverage Go's concurrency model (goroutines, channels, waitgroups) to execute highly parallel scatter-gather requests, fetching live availability and pricing from multiple suppliers simultaneously and merging them in real-time.
- Caching & Real-Time Availability: Design sophisticated, multi-layered caching strategies to serve fast hotel searches while ensuring pricing accuracy and availability during the final booking flow.
- Event-Driven Booking Flows: Develop robust asynchronous pipelines using message brokers (Kafka / RabbitMQ) to handle booking events, payment confirmations, and background inventory syncs without blocking the user journey.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Mentor mid-level engineers, lead technical design document (RFC) reviews, and collaborate with product teams to design scalable API contracts for our web and mobile clients.
Requirements
- Experience: 6+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years dedicated to building production-grade, high-throughput backend systems in Go.
- High-Performance Search & Caching: Strong hands-on experience with in-memory datastores (Redis) and distributed search/analytics engines (Elasticsearch / Meilisearch / OpenSearch) to power sub-second query responses.
- Complex API Integrations: Proven track record of integrating disparate, complex third-party APIs (REST, gRPC, and legacy SOAP/XML heavily used in the travel industry).
- Concurrency & Go Mastery: Deep expertise in Go's concurrency patterns, memory management, and performance profiling (pprof) under sustained, high-traffic load.
- Resilient Systems: Experience implementing distributed system resilience patterns (Circuit Breakers, Retries with Exponential Backoff, Bulkheads) to protect our platform from third-party supplier outages.
- Infrastructure: Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and working within modern CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Travel Tech Domain Knowledge: Previous experience working at an OTA, meta-search engine, or hospitality tech company. Familiarity with travel industry standards (NDC, OTA XML schemas) is a massive plus.
- Geospatial Search: Experience working with Geo-queries (PostGIS, Redis GEO, Elasticsearch Geo-shape) to power radius-based hotel searches and map views.
- Revenue/Pricing Engines: Understanding of dynamic pricing algorithms, markup rules engines, or currency conversion systems.
