Job Description

Job Purpose

The Senior Group Exercise Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the Group Exercise (GX) department across multiple clubs or regions. This role ensures the delivery of world-class GX programs that drive member engagement, retention, and satisfaction while maintaining brand standards and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Oversee and support Group Exercise Managers and instructors across assigned clubs.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor GX staff to deliver exceptional class experiences.
  • Manage team performance through KPIs, feedback sessions, and development plans.

Operational Excellence

  • Design and optimize GX timetables to maximize class attendance and member satisfaction.
  • Ensure all GX operations follow safety, quality, and brand standards.
  • Monitor class utilization and implement strategies to improve performance and revenue.

Program Development

  • Introduce new and trending fitness programs based on member insights and market trends.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to promote GX programs, events, and launches.
  • Lead the execution of quarterly Les Mills or in-house program launches and workshops.

Member Experience

  • Ensure all GX sessions deliver an engaging, motivating, and results-driven experience.
  • Gather and analyze member feedback to enhance GX offerings and instructor performance.
  • Support community-building activities through special events, challenges, and campaigns.

Reporting & Budget Management

  • Prepare monthly performance and attendance reports for management review.
  • Manage the GX budget, including payroll, equipment, and licensing.
  • Ensure cost control while maintaining high service and experience standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in Group Exercise Management, with at least 2 years in a senior/regional role.
  • Certified in multiple Les Mills or similar group fitness programs (e.g., BODYCOMBAT, BODYATTACK, RPM, etc.).
  • Proven experience in instructor development, class programming, and fitness operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites and teams effectively.
