Senior Hardware Program Manager (Consumer Electronics / Wearables)

Location: Remote / Hybrid (requires travel to Shenzhen) Format: Project-based / Retainer Contract

About the Project: We are developing an ecosystem of Next-Gen Bio-Sensing Wearables designed to collect high-precision physiological data. The project is currently in the R&D stage. Funding is confirmed.

Role Overview: We are seeking an Owner's Representative (Technical Project Lead) to manage ODM/OEM partners in China. Your role is not to solder by hand, but to manage the development and manufacturing lifecycle to ensure we deliver a product comparable to Oura/Whoop standards, avoiding AliExpress-grade quality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vendor Management: Sourcing and auditing factories in Shenzhen (Tier-1/Tier-2). You must be able to distinguish between quality manufacturers and middlemen.

2. R&D Oversight: Managing the EVT / DVT / PVT stages. Translating product requirements into strict engineering specifications.

3. Signal Integrity: Ensuring the quality of Raw Data from sensors (PPG, IMU, Temp). Mitigating motion artifacts at the hardware/mechanical level.

4. Cost Control: Strict management of the BOM (Bill of Materials) and negotiation with factories.

5. QC & Timeline: Establishing quality control processes on the production line and ensuring adherence to deadlines.

Requirements:

Experience: 7+ years in Hardware Engineering / Manufacturing. Mandatory experience with Wearables (smart rings, watches, trackers).

Track Record: Personally shepherded at least 2 products from concept to MP (Mass Production).

Tech Stack: Deep understanding of biosensor physics (PPG, EDA), Bluetooth LE (Nordic/Ambiq), and Power Management (optimization for small capacity batteries).

Shenzhen Network: An established base of contacts (factories, engineers, QC agents) in China.
