The project:

Mace is supporting the delivery of a large‑scale, next‑generation digital infrastructure programme in the region, working alongside a leading developer in the data centre sector. The project brings together complex design coordination, fast‑paced delivery and rigorous governance to meet the demands of a mission‑critical environment. Our team is applying global best practice in programme, project and commercial management to help shape resilient, future‑ready infrastructure at scale.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the project health, safety and wellbeing strategy in line with Mace standards and local regulations.
  • Oversee health and safety performance across multiple work fronts, ensuring consistent application of policies, procedures and controls.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and assurance activities, addressing non-conformances and driving corrective actions.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture through engagement initiatives, leadership coaching and behavioural safety programmes.
  • Provide expert advice to project teams, contractors and stakeholders on health and safety risks within a live, mission-critical environment.
  • Monitor and report on key safety metrics, trends and performance indicators to senior leadership.
  • Ensure robust incident investigation processes are in place, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
  • Collaborate closely with construction, commercial and design teams to ensure safety is embedded throughout delivery.
  • Support pre-construction activities, including risk assessments, method statement reviews and constructability input.
  • Interface with external stakeholders, authorities and auditing bodies as required.

You'll need to have:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent in health and safety or related discipline.
  • Professional certification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
  • Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. IOSH) preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior health and safety manager role within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong background in high-risk, complex environments (e.g. data centres, major infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities).
    Demonstrable experience driving safety culture and behavioural change across diverse project teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, standards and best practice in the region.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong reporting, analytical and communication capabilities.
