Role Description The Senior HSE Specialist at NL Space is a part-time, remote role focused on leading health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and standards aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The Senior HSE Specialist will conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits, and will provide guidance to project teams on safe work practices and mitigation measures. Daily tasks include monitoring compliance, analyzing HSE performance data, preparing reports, and recommending corrective actions. The role also involves delivering training, advising on occupational health matters, and fostering a strong safety culture in a distributed, remote-working environment.
Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Health & Safety, with the ability to apply relevant regulations and standards to space-related and technical operations.
Strong Environmental Awareness, including understanding of environmental impact, sustainability practices, and applicable environmental legislation.
Knowledge of Occupational Health principles, including risk identification, ergonomic considerations, and promoting worker well-being in remote and on-site contexts.
Experience in designing and delivering Training programs on HSE topics, including presentations, workshops, and e-learning for diverse teams.
Relevant academic background in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or equivalent) are highly beneficial.
Proven ability to analyze data, prepare clear reports, and communicate complex HSE topics in an accessible way.
Comfort working independently in a remote setting, collaborating virtually with cross-functional and international teams.
Experience in aerospace, technology, or other high-risk industries is an advantage.
