Senior HV Substation Engineer – Primary Design

Synergy STS is expanding its Grid & Energy Infrastructure engineering capability as part of our continued development of engineering delivery services for international energy and infrastructure assignments.
We are looking for an experienced Senior HV Substation Engineer – Primary Design to join our growing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering and design of HV/EHV substations, including AIS and GIS installations.
- Development and review of Single Line Diagrams, substation layouts and equipment arrangements.
- Busbar configuration and technical selection of HV equipment.
- Preparation and review of technical specifications and datasheets for transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, disconnectors, CTs, VTs, surge arresters and associated equipment.
- Earthing and lightning protection design coordination.
- Cable sizing, cable schedules and interface coordination.
- Preparation and review of equipment layouts, sections and engineering drawings.
- Technical bid evaluation and vendor-document review.
- Coordination with protection, control, civil, structural and other engineering disciplines.
- Participation in design reviews and technical coordination with international project teams.
Candidate Profile
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in HV substations, transmission or utility projects.
- Strong practical experience with 132 kV and above is highly preferred.
- Experience with AIS and/or GIS substations.
- Experience working with engineering consultants, utilities, OEMs or major EPC contractors is highly valued.
- Familiarity with IEC standards and international engineering practices.
- Experience with AutoCAD is required; Revit/BIM experience is an advantage.
- Strong technical documentation and English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently within multidisciplinary and geographically distributed project teams.
