Job Description

Location:

  • 10th of Ramadan

Key Accountabilities:

  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure shipment readiness.
  • Review shipment details and verify the completeness and accuracy of all related information.
  • Select the most appropriate mode of transportation in coordination with the concerned departments.
  • Obtain, review, and evaluate freight quotations to select the most suitable option.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and their agents.
  • Arrange and book cargo space with shipping lines or airlines.
  • Arrange or follow up on cargo insurance documentation, when applicable.
  • Monitor and confirm vessel sailing schedules or flight departure dates.
  • Review shipping documents and ensure their accuracy and compliance with shipment requirements.
  • Track shipment arrival dates and notify the concerned departments accordingly.
  • Follow up on the receipt of original shipping documents.
  • Deliver shipping documents to the Imports/Customs Clearance Department promptly.
  • Follow up on the settlement of freight charges in accordance with the company's approved financial procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company's shipping SOPs and internal policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other international shipping-related duties assigned by the Head of Imports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of shipping procedures and enhance the efficiency of international shipping operations.

Qualifications & Education:

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in international shipping

Skills:

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to analyse shipping data and prepare reports.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of International Commercial Terms (Incoterms).
  • Knowledge of shipping documents, including:
  • Bill of Lading (B/L)
  • Air Waybill (AWB)
  • Packing List
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Certificate of Origin
  • And other related shipping documents.
  • Teamwork spirit.
  • Bottom of Form
