About The Role
Nicholas O'Dwyer Ltd. is seeking an experienced
Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to support the supervision, testing, and commissioning of major water infrastructure projects in Kuwait. The role will focus on ensuring reliable automation, monitoring, and control systems across water distribution complexes and transmission networks.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems.
- Review and approve contractor submittals (SCADA, PLCs, instrumentation layouts).
- Ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and approved designs.
- Witness FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor contractor performance and identify risks or deviations.
- Provide input into construction methodologies and system integration.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues on-site.
- Review testing procedures, commissioning plans, and performance results.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, process).
- Maintain inspection records, reports, and documentation.
- Contribute to monthly progress reports and client submissions.
- Support knowledge transfer and training initiatives.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required, in line with the evolving needs of the role and the business.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years experience in I&C engineering within infrastructure/water projects.
- Strong experience with SCADA, PLCs, and field instrumentation.
- Proven experience in construction supervision and commissioning.
- Knowledge of international standards and best practices.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity systems is desirable
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
