Senior Interchange & Pricing Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Interchange & Pricing Analyst to join our Digital Payments team. This is a strategic role for a highly analytical and commercially driven professional with extensive experience in card acquiring, interchange pricing, scheme fees, and revenue optimization within the banking or financial services industry.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Visa and Mastercard pricing structures, interchange, scheme billing, merchant acquiring, and commercial negotiations. This is a senior-level position requiring a professional who can take ownership from day one, lead pricing initiatives independently, mentor team members, and partner with senior stakeholders without requiring extensive training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage interchange and merchant pricing strategies across acquiring products.
  • Monitor and evaluate pricing changes initiated internally and by Visa, Mastercard, processors, and other payment partners.
  • Analyze the financial and technical impact of pricing and fee changes on business performance.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models, profitability analysis, revenue forecasting, and net revenue dashboards.
  • Perform large-scale data extraction and analysis using Excel, SQL, Python, and BI tools.
  • Lead pricing governance while ensuring customer-centric and fair-value pricing practices.
  • Support system enhancements, UAT testing, and implementation of pricing-related changes.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all pricing-related technical and commercial queries.
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and market intelligence to identify pricing opportunities.
  • Partner with Finance, Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Sales teams to improve pricing performance.
  • Lead commercial discussions with payment processors, Visa, Mastercard, and external partners.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, tender documentation, pricing models, and contract renewals.
  • Negotiate commercial terms to maximize revenue while maintaining strategic partnerships.
  • Support month-end revenue reconciliation, billing validation, and financial reporting.
  • Develop pricing documentation, best practices, and knowledge resources.
  • Coach, mentor, and guide junior team members while promoting pricing excellence across the organization.
  • Required Experience

    • Minimum 5–7 years of experience within Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, or Payment Institutions.
    • At least 4–5 years of hands-on experience in the Card Payments industry, specifically in acquiring, interchange, scheme fees, and merchant pricing.
    • Strong practical experience working directly with Visa and Mastercard pricing frameworks, interchange programs, scheme fees, billing processes, and commercial models.
    • Proven experience handling merchant acquiring pricing and profitability analysis.
    • Experience working with payment processors, acquiring platforms, and card schemes.
    • Demonstrated ability to independently manage pricing functions with minimal supervision.
    • Previous experience leading pricing initiatives, mentoring team members, and driving business improvements.
    • Experience supporting commercial negotiations, RFPs, tenders, and strategic partnerships.

    We are looking for someone who:

    • Has extensive hands-on experience with Visa and Mastercard interchange, scheme fees, pricing programs, and billing processes.
    • Has worked in a Bank, Acquiring Institution, Payment Processor, or FinTech.
    • Can immediately take ownership of the pricing function without requiring extensive training.
    • Has successfully led pricing strategies and commercial negotiations.
    • Is confident working directly with senior leadership and external payment partners.
    • Can coach and guide team members while driving continuous process improvements.
    • Possesses top-tier negotiation skills with a proven record of delivering commercial value.
    • Thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven, and highly collaborative environment.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
