Skilled Careers is working with a boutique interior design practice to source a Senior Interior Designer with strong site supervision experience. Based in Dubai, the successful candidate will lead the full interior design process—from initial concept through to final execution—ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with clients to understand their objectives, functional needs, and design preferences, translating these into creative and practical interior solutions.
- Prepare and present design concepts, including presentations and mood boards, to clearly convey ideas and secure client approval.
- Produce and review detailed design documentation to support project delivery.
- Carry out site inspections and surveys to evaluate existing conditions, confirm dimensions, and identify potential risks or opportunities.
- Oversee on-site activities to ensure construction and installation are executed in line with approved designs, quality benchmarks, and project schedules.
- Coordinate effectively with architects, contractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Specify and procure materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and other interior components in line with the design vision.
- Support and guide junior team members, fostering their development while maintaining high design standards across all projects.
To be considered, candidates must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline; a master's degree is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in a Senior Interior Designer role, including at least 5 years of practical site supervision.
- Proficiency in key design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Solid understanding of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry best practices within interior design and construction, within the UAE
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Highly creative with a refined design eye and strong attention to detail, supported by a portfolio showcasing a variety of successful projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Prior experience on ultra-luxury hospitality projects is highly desirable.
