Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Equipment Engineer to lead the equipment engineering support team in ensuring optimal equipment performance, process stability, and operational excellence within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, maximise equipment reliability, and provide technical leadership in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the equipment engineering support team in resolving complex equipment and process-related technical issues.
- Plan and implement effective corrective and preventive maintenance (PM) programmes to maximise equipment reliability while optimising resource utilisation.
- Perform equipment installation, commissioning, start-up, qualification, evaluation, maintenance, and upgrades for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing performance.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and in-depth technical investigations involving RF systems, vacuum leak detection, particle contamination, hardware, software, and process-related issues.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment uptime, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, yield, cycle time, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality control measures to minimise defects, prevent recurring failures, and improve process capability.
- Monitor equipment performance indicators and initiate improvement actions to reduce downtime and maximise production output.
- Lead initiatives to improve equipment utilisation, manufacturing efficiency, scrap reduction, and operational cost savings.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate newly hired engineers and technicians on equipment operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting techniques, and workplace safety.
- Develop and maintain Preventive Maintenance (PM) checklists, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and technical documentation.
- Support customer and internal quality audits by ensuring equipment and maintenance processes comply with company and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing, to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, environmental, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment engineering or a similar high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability.
- Hands-on experience in RF systems, vacuum systems, leak detection, particle contamination analysis, and hardware/software troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience leading continuous improvement, yield enhancement, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, 8D, RCA, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
