Job Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for performing advanced quality assurance activities across the hospital's IT systems, applications, and digital services. The role ensures that software applications and IT services meet predefined quality standards, support clinical excellence, and comply with Saudi healthcare regulatory requirements. This position plays a crucial role in minimizing system failures, improving patient safety through technology, and supporting the hospital's accreditation readiness.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work is performed based on approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Ensure day-to-day activities are properly performed in line with policies and procedures

Follow-up on escalated cases/issues of subordinates to ensure they are closed efficiently and in a timely manner

  • Align IT DevOps strategies with MOH eHealth initiatives, Vision 2030 digital healthcare goals, and CBAHI/JCI accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure operational excellence in IT systems to enhance hospital performance, patient safety, and service availability.
  • Implement IT quality assurance frameworks, policies, and procedures across all IT services.
  • Conduct functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for all hospital IT systems including EMR, HIS, ERP, patient portals, and mobile applications.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed test plans, test scripts, and defect reports.
  • Validate new releases, patches, and system upgrades before deployment.
  • Ensure IT systems adhere to MOH, CBAHI, and JCI accreditation requirements concerning technology service quality.
  • Assist in preparing documentation and evidence for internal audits and external regulatory inspections.
  • Monitor IT KPIs and contribute to quality reports required for accreditation bodies.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of IT incidents and system failures.
  • Recommend corrective actions to address recurring system issues and service disruptions.
  • Proactively identify system risks and suggest preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Work closely with IT developers, system analysts, infrastructure teams, and clinical informatics to ensure smooth system performance.
  • Coordinate with clinical, nursing, and administrative end-users during testing cycles.
  • Act as a quality advocate in IT projects, ensuring user needs and safety considerations are addressed.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of QA activities, testing outcomes, and system validation logs.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT quality processes.
  • Prepare dashboards and performance reports for IT management and quality committees.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Experience:

5–7 years of experience in IT quality assurance, preferably in healthcare environments.

Experience in testing clinical and administrative hospital systems (EMR, HIS, ERP, LIS, PACS).

Familiarity with Saudi healthcare standards including MOH, CBAHI, JCI, and SFDA.

Knowledge of test automation tools and modern testing frameworks is an advantage.

Experience with incident management and service improvement methodologies (RCA, CAPA).

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.

Skills:

Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., C#, .NET, Java, Python, or equivalent)
