The Senior IT Systems Administrator for the UCC Egypt Office is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the company's IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance operations. This role supports both local Egypt office systems and contributes to regional/global IT initiatives across UCC. The administrator will lead system upgrades, support cloud and on-prem environments, implement security standards, and provide high-level technical support to end users.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Manage Windows and/or Linux servers, including configuration, updates, and performance tuning.
- Maintain and optimize Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, and identity/access management.
- Support UCC cloud environments (Azure preferred), hybrid infrastructure, and virtualization platforms.
- Ensure stable operation of core IT services: DNS, DHCP, file servers, print services, and network shares.
- Monitor and manage network equipment including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPN gateways.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices aligned with UCC global standards.
- Perform regular patching, system hardening, and vulnerability mitigation.
- Oversee data backup solutions, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
- Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues in the Egypt office.
- Support deployment and maintenance of end-user devices (PCs, laptops, VoIP, mobile devices).
- Ensure uptime of business-critical systems and oversee monitoring tools.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, asset records, and license inventory according to corporate guidelines.
- Lead or participate in IT infrastructure projects, migrations, and technology rollouts.
- Coordinate with regional and global IT teams to align Egypt office systems with UCC standards.
- Train and mentor junior IT staff and helpdesk technicians.
- Support IT audits, compliance checks, and corporate governance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 58+ years of experience in system administration or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong expertise with Windows Server environments and Active Directory administration.
- Experience with backup tools, disaster recovery planning, and monitoring systems.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently.
