Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, system design, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have experience working in product development organizations and building scalable, high-performance, production-grade backend systems.
Required Skills
- Core Java: Collections, Multithreading, Concurrency, Garbage Collection, JVM fundamentals, and performance optimization.
- Spring Boot: Strong hands-on experience developing backend services and REST APIs.
- Redis: Practical experience with caching and performance optimization.
- NoSQL Databases: Hands-on experience with Aerospike or equivalent NoSQL databases, including data modeling, access patterns, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Low-Level Design: Strong understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, abstraction, separation of concerns, and clean-code practices.
- AI-Assisted Development: Experience with Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools, with the ability to review, validate, modify, and improve AI-generated code.
- DevOps & Containers: Git, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Argo CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and container registries.
- Product Engineering: Experience building scalable, high-availability, or distributed backend systems in product development environments.
Good to Have
- Strong SQL and database fundamentals.
- Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Production troubleshooting, performance tuning, and observability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Create and review low-level designs, ensuring clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Optimize application performance using Redis and appropriate NoSQL data models.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code quality and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deployments.
- Independently troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to reliable, production-grade systems.
