We are seeking five (5) highly experienced and client-approved Welding/Piping/Mechanical Inspectors for a critical short-term assignment on a major onshore LNG/gas facility project. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in welding, piping, and mechanical systems through rigorous inspection and surveillance activities. The roles require a mix of senior leadership and skilled inspection execution.
Position Breakdown:
- 1x Senior Inspector: Must hold a Senior/Level III certification in welding inspection.
- 4x Level II Inspectors: Must hold Level II as a minimum certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily surveillance and inspection of welding, piping fabrication, installation, and mechanical equipment activities.
- Review and verify compliance of procedures, welder qualifications, and materials against project specifications, codes, and standards (ASME, API, etc.).
- Conduct and oversee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, interpreting results for UT, MT, PT, and RT film.
- Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records, reports, and quality documentation (ITPs, checklists, discrepancy reports).
- Witness and approve hydrostatic/pneumatic tests, line checks, and other verification activities.
- Interface with construction contractors, client representatives, and certification authorities.
- Identify non-conformances, initiate corrective action requests, and track to closure.
- For specific roles: Provide specialized inspection for GRP (Fiberglass) piping systems and/or mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, vessels), pending additional client approval.
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant Trade Certificates.
Mandatory Certifications:
- Welding Inspection: CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, or equivalent.
- NDT Certifications: ASNT Level II in UT, MT, PT, and RT Film Interpretation.
- Level Requirement:
- One (1) candidate must possess a Senior/Level III welding inspection certification.
- Four (4) candidates must possess Level II as a minimum.
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of overall inspection experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
- At least 5 years of that experience must be on onshore Gas Facilities.
- LNG project experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven hands-on experience with the above-listed NDT methods.
Special Notes / Preferred Skills:
- Candidates with specific knowledge and experience in GRP (Fiberglass) Piping inspection are highly desired for certain positions.
- Experience in mechanical equipment inspection (for pumps, turbines, pressure vessels) is an asset and will be evaluated for specific, separately defined tasks requiring additional COMPANY approval.
