We are seeking a highly skilled Senior / Lead Linux System Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based systems and services, ensuring high availability and performance across our mission-critical environments. This role also involves mentoring junior engineers, improving internal processes, and contributing to the secure architecture of hosted platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain operational procedures for managing Linux environments.
- Perform system performance tuning, monitoring, and incident resolution in production.
- Lead efforts in troubleshooting and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Update and maintain technical documentation and internal knowledge bases.
- Mentor junior system engineers and provide technical leadership on infrastructure projects.
- Administer and tune Linux-based web servers (NGINX, Apache, PHP-FPM).
- Manage and maintain DNS services (BIND, PowerDNS).
- Conduct safety tests, stress/load tests, and collaborate with the service desk to resolve escalated issues.
- Provide on-call support for urgent infrastructure issues affecting uptime or service quality.
- Recommend and implement automated solutions to improve system operations.
- Ensure secure configuration and industry best practices are applied across all environments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Linux platforms (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Strong experience with web server administration: NGINX, Apache, PHP-FPM.
- DNS server management: BIND and PowerDNS.
- Solid experience in MySQL administration.
- Experience with MySQL Replication, Clustering, and Performance Tuning.
- Familiarity with caching layers: Varnish, Memcached, Redis.
- Experience managing cPanel hosting environments.
- Exposure to open-source CMS platforms: WordPress, Drupal, Moodle, Magento.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure or other public cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with shell scripting or automation tools (e.g., Bash, Ansible).
