About the business area - Group Risk Management

ADCB prioritises a disciplined approach to risk, recognising its fundamental importance to the Bank's long-term organisational and financial resilience. Group Risk Management oversees the implementation of ADCB's risk objectives, identifying and addressing gaps in the bank's risk infrastructure/framework. Their responsibilities include nurturing the independence of the risk function, establishing provisioning policies, and introducing changes to energise risk awareness among front office personnel and decision-makers. Continuously tuning the risk organisation in line with market best practices, they manage ADCB's portfolio and associated risks to international standards, while establishing a clear risk culture across all areas of operation.

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • To lead the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of credit and liquidity risks across the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with the Bank's risk appetite, defending risk methodologies to internal and external stakeholders, expanding credit risk infrastructure to meet SAMA requirements, minimizes losses, preserves asset quality, and oversees accurate, timely credit risk reporting
  • Identify, measure, and assess credit risks across portfolios to ensure alignment with the Bank's risk appetite and regulatory requirements
  • Act as the lead for Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), and International Finance Reporting Standards (IFRS9), Risk-Based Pricing, and Risk-Adjusted Return on Capital (RAROC) models in order to ensure the use of best practice, industry benchmarks, compliance and portfolio quality standards
  • Lead the accuracy and integrity of risk data and systems, ensuring effective controls and automation for risk measurement and reporting
  • Develop and maintain robust risk monitoring frameworks and produce accurate, timely reports for senior management and regulators to support informed decision-making
  • Calculate and submit market, settlement and counterparty risk capital to demonstrate compliance to Central Bank requirements
  • Lead the production of reports by ensuring the team monitor results and escalate breaches of market risk and counterparty risk limits for remedial action to be initiated Collaborate with Business and Credit teams to develop and enhance models aligned with SAMA CB and Basel requirements
  • Design and execute stress testing and scenario analysis for liquidity and market risk exposures to evaluate resilience under adverse conditions and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Manage the development and implementation of models to measure and monitor the Banking book's exposure to interest rate risk to ensure remedial action is initiated when appropriate
  • Compare research on industry leading best practices and share feedback with line manager to ensure that the Bank's market risk methodologies and models are continuously developed and refined
  • Implement and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations
  • Manage any open audit points raised internally or by the regulator, making sure to close them in a timely fashion
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements related to credit and liquidity risk, including timely submission of mandated reports
  • Manage self and team in line with ADCB's people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance
  • Organise and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved, and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems

The ideal candidate should have the following experience

  • At least 4 years of banking/financial services experience with a focus on credit and liquidity risk management
  • Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Related
  • Knowledge and Skills Credit Risk Models
  • General Risk Management Methodologies
  • Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis Expertise
  • Regulatory Compliance and Governance Frameworks
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Office Suite
