Define and implement enterprise data governance frameworks, operating models, and data ownership structures.
Establish data policies, standards, and procedures covering data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, and retention.
Drive alignment between data strategy and business objectives.
Define data quality dimensions, KPIs, and monitoring mechanisms.
Oversee root-cause analysis and remediation of critical data quality issues.
Embed data controls into upstream and downstream systems and processes.
Define and enforce data ownership, data stewardship, and accountability models.
Lead and coordinate data owners and stewards across business units.
Chair or contribute to data governance forums and committees.
Ensure compliance with data-related regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, local data regulations, internal risk policies).
Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Audit teams on data-related matters.
Support regulatory exams, audits, and internal control assessments.
Oversee implementation and adoption of metadata management and data lineage tools.
Ensure transparency and traceability of critical data elements across systems.
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and IT on data architecture standards.
Act as a senior point of contact for data-related matters across business and technology.
Translate business requirements into data management solutions.
Influence senior stakeholders to drive data culture and accountability.
