What you'll do:
- Lead end-to-end finance setup for new business launches, including entity and structure assessment, chart of accounts design, and accounting flow definition.
- Design and implement scalable order-to-cash and procure-to-pay workflows.
- Define finance and operational processes for multiple business models, including B2C, B2B, and marketplace structures.
- Drive finance integration for fintech solutions such as payment gateways, wallets, BNPL, refunds, and settlement mechanisms.
- Partner closely with Operations and Technology teams to build system-driven, scalable finance processes.
Commercial & Strategic Finance
- Evaluate new business proposals, partnerships, and commercial opportunities.
- Review and assess commercial agreements, revenue models, cost structures, and associated risks and compliance requirements.
- Perform profitability analysis, unit economics, and business viability assessments for new initiatives.
- Provide clear, data-backed recommendations to leadership on go/no-go decisions.
Business Planning & Forecasting
- Own the preparation of business plans, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Estimate, monitor, and manage working capital requirements, cash flows, and funding needs.
- Track forecast assumptions against actual performance and recalibrate projections as required.
P&L Ownership & Performance Tracking
- Own detailed P&L tracking across businesses, categories, products, or channels.
- Monitor actual performance against plan and identify revenue leakage, margin pressures, and cost inefficiencies.
- Partner with business teams during monthly closures to analyze variances and drive corrective actions.
Closing, Controls & Governance
- Lead month-end and period-end close processes in collaboration with accounting and business teams.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting and MIS.
- Support statutory audits, internal audits, and compliance requirements.
- Establish SOPs and governance frameworks to support business scale and complexity.
Data, Systems & Technology Enablement
- Demonstrate strong hands-on capability with data tools such as BigQuery and SQL for financial analysis.
- Drive data-led insights through dashboards, automated reporting, and analytics.
- Partner with data and engineering teams to improve data quality, reconciliation logic, and reporting automation.
- Stay adaptable and technology-oriented, comfortable working with evolving systems, tools, and business models.
What you'll need:
- Master's Degree in Banking & Finance, General Accounting, or a similar field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in e-commerce, marketplace, fintech, or high-growth technology environments.
- Prior experience supporting new business launches, reviewing and managing commercial agreements, and setting up end-to-end finance processes.
- Strong background in commercial finance and financial controllership.
- Deep understanding of financial processes across e-commerce and fintech ecosystems.
- Exposure to eCommerce / QCommerce Industry.
- Extensive knowledge of Accounts Payable, General Ledger of books of account keeping
- Strong business partnering mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Advanced analytical capabilities, including hands-on experience with SQL and BigQuery.
- Proven expertise in business evaluation, profitability analysis, unit economics, and working capital management.
