Senior Manager Fire, Health & Safety

About the Role
As Senior Manager Fire, Health & Safety, you will lead the daytoday delivery of Fire, Health & Safety (FH&S) management across Alshaya locations, acting as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders. You will implement strategic initiatives, deliver operational outputs, and provide professional investigation support for incidents and accidents, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Risk Management
- Act as the SME for fire safety across the retail business, developing and delivering a fire safety strategy to identify and reduce risk.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, technical specifications, and fire safety arrangements for retail, offices, and operational environments.
- Lead fire safety risk assessments, analyse fire incident data, and investigate significant fire safety events.
- Ensure testing and maintenance of safety systems/equipment aligns with legal requirements and company expectations.
- Deliver training and awareness programs to raise capability, engagement, and compliance.
Health & Safety Risk Management
- Lead, direct, and develop the field Health & Safety team; drive delivery of key projects and initiatives.
- Deliver risk assessments and reviews across stores, offices, warehouses, and factories; ensure high quality documentation and reporting.
- Monitor incident reporting and conduct detailed investigations (root cause analysis, action plans, and reporting).
- Partner with senior leaders to communicate risk insights, recommendations, and mitigation plans.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Health & Safety / Fire Safety Management
- NEBOSH Fire Safety (or equivalent) and NEBOSH General Certificate
- Food Safety qualification (e.g., Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or equivalent)
- Auditing / ISO Lead Assessor and Environmental assessment certifications are advantageous
Experience
- 1015+ years in Fire, Health & Safety management roles (highrisk industries)
- Strong leadership experience managing an H&S team/department
- Strong retail operations exposure (multisite)
- Strong working knowledge of fire safety systems/installations, construction safety risks, and warehouse/logistics/factory safety environments.
