Lead the Fire & Life Safety (FLS) Engineering and Design Management for capital projects and operational enhancement programs of ADA, with primary responsibility for all Fire & Life Safety aspects of design development and regulatory code compliance. The role is responsible for the design, review, coordination, and approval of fire protection systems and life safety strategies, ensuring full compliance with applicable local and international fire codes, standards, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. This position will serve as the technical authority for Fire & Life Safety matters, providing expert guidance throughout all project phases—from concept and detailed design through construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of architectural and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with fire codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Review fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, smoke control systems, and emergency lighting and its calculations.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate fire protection systems into building designs and ensure seamless coordination.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing fire protection systems, identify deficiencies, and recommend necessary actions.
- Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction, Airport Emergency services, and other regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for fire protection system installations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders regarding fire protection system design, installation, and testing.
- Review and approve fire protection system designs prepared by external consultants, ensuring they meet the project requirements and standards.
- Manage the budget for fire safety engineering activities, including procurement of equipment and services.
- Strategic & tactical planning and the engineering development of capital and operational enhancement projects of ADA mainly Fire Life Safety Systems through each stages (Forecasting/Sizing, Engineering design (concept, Preliminary until final design), budget/cost analysis/total cost of ownership development, value engineering, develop construction implementation plan, establishing budget, program schedule & milestone of Fire Life Safety engineering
- Manage & lead multiple specialized design & supervision of consultancy services (design, supervision, ORAT), peer review consultancy services, design deliverables programs, development of consultancy scope of services for design, supervision, ORAT, Operation & value engineering.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the reporting manager.
- Act as the Fire & Life Safety Technical Authority for ADA projects, establishing design governance, standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and handover of fire and life safety systems to operations.
- Provide executive-level reporting on Fire & Life Safety compliance, risks, and project status to senior management.
- Develop, update, and enforce ADA Fire & Life Safety design standards, guidelines, and lessons-learned across projects.
