Organization Unit Purpose
Market & Treasury Credit Risk is a Group Risk function, independent of all business units. The unit focuses on identification, measurement, monitoring, reporting, and overall management of market & counterparty credit risk. The unit has direct ownership and responsibility for ENBD UAE and its international branches in Singapore, London, India, and Riyadh. Additionally, the unit provides governance oversight, assistance and consultation for market and counterparty credit risk matters to risk and business stakeholders at group subsidiary entities namely Emirates Islamic and ENBD Egypt.
Job Purpose
This role requires close collaboration with key business and support stakeholders to assess market and traded credit risk. The job holder is responsible for ensuring proper process controls and accurately monitoring and reporting risk exposures. Additionally, the role involves managing projects to improve the risk control and monitoring functions.
Job Content
Portfolio Review
- Monitor market trends and analyze effects of significant developments on the trading portfolio.
- Analyze trading book portfolio risk metrics and report on key risk drivers to front office.
- Support the creation of regular portfolio review packs for senior management.
- Conduct portfolio stress tests in line with internal/regulatory guidelines.
Risk Monitoring & Control Ownership
- Design & develop both ad hoc and daily market risk limit monitoring reports.
- Dynamically manage changes to reporting requirements and ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor daily limit utilizations, investigate any breaches, and report them to front office and senior management.
- Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of risk reports.
MTCR System, Data and Process Infrastructure
- Engage in the design, testing, and implementation of systems and enhancements related to market risk systems.
- Develop test strategies and cases for product changes and oversee UAT execution and defect resolution.
- Escalate any production system or data issues and ensure their successful resolution.
Stakeholder engagement & relationship management
- Maintain strong ongoing engagement with key stakeholders to understand priorities and address concerns across all parties.
- Manage escalations and implement timely corrective actions to resolve issues effectively.
Personal / Staff Development
- Lead knowledge sharing sessions for junior team members to build internal capabilities.
- Propose and implement actions to enhance team expertise and contribution.
Education
- A graduate or postgraduate qualification is required, with a major in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field of study.
- FRM/CFA certification is strongly preferred for this role
Experiences
5+ years of relevant experience in large international banking organizations
Skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong programming skills are mandatory, with a required proficiency in Python.Good understanding of derivative structures, pricing, risk measurement, and Basel guidelines (specifically FRTB) for market risk
- Experience working effectively within diverse, cross-cultural teams.
- Ability to present ideas clearly and build consensus among stakeholders.
