Job Description
We are looking to hire a Senior Manager – Quantity Surveying who will be responsible for leading Quantity Surveying and Cost Engineering activities across major development programmes, including cost planning, estimating, contract administration, project cost control, claims, variations and risk management, for our client based in Dubai - which is one of the largest companies in the region.
This role will be on a 12-month contract which is renewable on an annual basis.
The role sits within the Cost Engineering Unit, and reports directly to the Head – Cost Engineering.
We are looking for a passionate Senior Manager – Quantity Surveying about providing technical leadership across complex cost management and Quantity Surveying activities throughout the project lifecycle. You should also have experience in large-scale construction, infrastructure or development programmes, with strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, contract administration, claims, variations, cost reporting and project controls.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation, review and delivery of project estimates, cost plans and cost evaluations across assigned development projects.
- Provide technical leadership on complex, high-value and high-risk estimating and cost planning activities.
- Lead contract administration activities, including variations, contractor claims, contractual correspondence and final account settlement.
- Assess and provide recommendations on contractor claims and variations in line with contractual requirements and project objectives.
- Lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of contractual, cost and project-related risks.
- Oversee cost forecasting, cost reporting, variation reporting and project cost performance monitoring.
- Review project cost trends and provide recommendations to support effective project controls and informed decision-making.
- Coordinate Quantity Surveying resources across assigned programmes and projects, ensuring effective workload allocation and technical quality.
- Build strong working relationships with project teams, Procurement, Finance, Legal, consultants and contractors.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Cost Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of overall experience, with 5–7 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying / Cost Engineering.
- Experience working on major construction, infrastructure, aviation or complex development programmes.
- Experience with projects or programmes valued at AED 500M+ is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, quantity surveying, contract administration, claims, variations, cost reporting and final account management.
- Experience with CostX or equivalent estimating software.
- Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
- Strong stakeholder management, team coordination and communication skills.
- RICS or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Middle East project experience is preferred.
