Job Title: Senior Manager – Startup Partnerships & Technology Evaluation

Reporting to: Associate Director – Corporate Development

Work Location: Bengaluru AMR Techpark

A senior manager with a startup ecosystem and technology-product background, who can help the organization proactively identify, evaluate, and curate cutting-edge startups relevant to Sagility.

Duties and responsibilities:

Startup Ecosystem Scanning & Market Intelligence

  • Continuously scan global and regional startup ecosystems to identify emerging companies relevant to:
  • Healthcare services and operations
  • BPaaS and technology‑enabled services
  • Data, analytics, AI/ML, automation, and platform‑led operating models
  • Track emerging disruptions, technologies, and business models that could impact Sagility and its payer and provider clients over the long term.
  • Develop regular insights and thematic views on where the market is heading, beyond immediate demand signals.

Evaluation & Strategic Fit Assessment

  • Evaluate startups for strategic relevance, maturity, scalability, and long‑term value creation potential.
  • Assess fit across dimensions such as:
  • Strategic alignment with Sagility's roadmap and offerings
  • Technology robustness and product maturity
  • Commercial viability and integration feasibility
  • Potential to create differentiated client outcomes
  • Develop concise, decision‑ready viewpoints for leadership on which startups merit engagement, piloting, partnership, or monitoring.

Partnership Development & Pilots

  • Work closely with practice teams, technology teams, and solution leaders to identify priority areas for startup collaboration.
  • Design and support pilots, proofs of concept, and co‑creation initiatives with selected startups.
  • Partner with client teams where relevant to test and validate solutions in real‑world settings.
  • Help operationalize successful pilots into scalable partnerships or solution offerings.

Internal & External Collaboration

  • Act as a bridge between startups and internal stakeholders, translating startup capabilities into enterprise‑ready use cases.
  • Collaborate with:
  • Practice and solution teams
  • Technology and digital teams
  • Client engagement teams
  • Support positioning of Sagility as a forward‑thinking, innovation‑led partner for clients and ecosystem players.

Strategic Preparedness & Capability Leadership

  • Contribute to Sagility's long‑term capability planning by identifying gaps and future‑ready opportunities early.
  • Help leadership anticipate shifts in client expectations and industry economics by leveraging startup insights.
  • Ensure Sagility is well‑positioned not just for current market needs, but for future capability leadership.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of technology products, product development cycles, and startup operating models.
  • Ability to evaluate businesses and technologies commercially and strategically—not just build or sell them.
  • Comfort engaging with founders, product leaders, and internal enterprise stakeholders alike.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and storytelling skills to convert market signal into leadership‑ready insights.

Minimum education and experience required

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or relevant post-graduate degree is required.

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in or closely with startups, startup ecosystems, or startup‑heavy environments (e.g., venture‑backed companies, innovation arms, accelerators, corporate venture or partnerships).
  • Exposure to healthcare, technology‑enabled services, SaaS, platforms, or digital products is strongly preferred.
