Head of Operations, UAE Fresh Bakery Distribution
We are seeking a senior leader to direct the full operations and van-sales distribution network for fresh bakery and pastry products across the UAE. This role owns strategic planning, daily execution, fleet utilization, cold chain compliance, and operational profitability across all Emirates.
You will lead a large organization of 300+ van salesmen, drivers, and supervisors, ensuring just-in-time delivery, minimum wastage, and strong customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Set strategy and operational direction for all van-sales and delivery functions.
- Lead nationwide dispatch, routing, cold chain management, and performance control.
- Build efficient, scalable systems that improve forecast accuracy, route productivity, and delivery cost.
- Strengthen KPI governance: delivery-on-time, van utilization, returns control, wastage, fuel efficiency, customer satisfaction.
- Develop supervisors and area managers, ensuring discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Production, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance.
- Introduce technology upgrades in routing tools, fleet tracking, and van-sales mobility systems.
- Ensure HACCP compliance and operational readiness across all Emirates.
Requirements
- 6+ years leading large FMCG or Ultra Fresh operations within the UAE.
- Strong leadership track record with teams above 200 personnel.
- Expertise in route optimization, fleet operations, cold chain, and just-in-time bakery distribution.
- Strong financial understanding of cost-to-serve and operational KPIs.
- ERP and van-sales system experience required.
Recommended Education Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
- Master's degree (MBA or Supply Chain focus) is a plus, not mandatory.
- Professional certifications preferred but optional (lean, Six Sigma, supply chain, fleet management, HACCP).
