Job Purpose
The SAP Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of SAP projects and initiatives within SOPC, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality implementation of SAP enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and new modules. The role acts as a key delivery lead within the SAP Center of Excellence, translating business requirements into executable SAP projects while ensuring adherence to SAP standards, governance frameworks, and enterprise architecture principles. The role plays a critical part in driving SAP adoption, process optimization, and value realization across SOPC entities and federations.
Job Specific Accountabilities
SAP Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end management of SAP projects, including planning, scope definition, scheduling, resourcing, budgeting, and risk management.
- Oversee the delivery of SAP enhancements, upgrades, integrations, new module implementations, and rollout projects in line with the SAP roadmap.
- Ensure SAP projects are delivered according to agreed scope, timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
- Manage dependencies across SAP modules, integrations, and related digital initiatives to ensure coordinated delivery.
SAP Governance & Standards
- Ensure all SAP projects comply with SAP COE standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks.
- Apply consistent project management, documentation, testing, and deployment practices across SAP initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, data governance, cybersecurity, and IT policies throughout project delivery.
- Support continuous improvement of SAP delivery methodologies and project governance practices.
Stakeholder & Business Engagement
- Engage business stakeholders, shared services teams, and federations to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure business readiness.
- Translate business needs into clear SAP project scopes, functional requirements, and delivery plans.
- Facilitate project steering committees, status reviews, and governance forums, ensuring transparency and timely decision-making.
- Act as the primary escalation point for SAP project risks, issues, and change requests.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Manage SAP system integrators, implementation partners, and support vendors involved in SAP projects.
- Monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations, delivery milestones, and service levels.
- Coordinate internal SAP teams and external partners to ensure effective collaboration and delivery accountability.
- Support commercial and performance reviews related to SAP project engagements.
Change Management & User Adoption
- Work closely with change management and business teams to support user adoption, training, and communication activities.
- Ensure SAP solutions are deployed with appropriate testing, cutover planning, and user readiness.
- Promote best practices, awareness, and continuous improvement in SAP usage across user groups.
- Support post-go-live stabilization and transition to support teams.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Track and report SAP project progress, risks, issues, and benefits realization to SAP COE and Digital Transformation leadership.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, plans, and status reports.
- Contribute to SAP roadmap planning by identifying delivery risks, improvement opportunities, and lessons learned.
