Job Purpose:

  • The Water Sports Senior Manager is a position working between RSSE Operational General Manager and multiple project sites whose primary goal is to support the RSSE Operational General Manager to develop all water sports related tourism assets and their business function.
  • He/She is responsible for the supporting the concept development and operational roll-out of all water sports related projects, including the collaboration and engagement of cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring all sides of the business are informed throughout the life of the project. Working closely with the Director of Sports & Adventure to enhance project outcomes. This includes but is not limited to working remotely to identify and train the ongoing operational team that will deliver and operate Red Sea Group water sports related assets.
  • Responsible to supervise the water sport teams as the water sport facilities and activities and ensure that all water sport activities are carried as per Sop's.
  • We are looking for an individual with strong watersports background. Sailing, CAT Sailing, SUP, Windsurfing, Kitesurfing, Wing foiling and others, instructor qualifications will be a must.

Job Responsibilities:

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Instructors work a 48 hour six day week, with one day off each week, which may not fall on the same days, each week and are entitled to 25 working days holidays a year.
  • Reporting directly to the RSSE Operational General Manager, assisting in the management of all phases of water sports related projects.
  • Work alongside Delivery Team to develop and deliver water sports centers and necessary components to make them stand alone operations, considerate of wider marine L&E portfolio.
  • Work alongside Health & Safety and Legal Departments to develop policies, procedures and source operational licenses.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Water Sports
  • Support with the writing and management of roll out and on-going delivery of Standard Operating Procedures and processes related to the delivery of water sports activities at key water sports venues within the Red Sea Development Project.
  • Support with the liaison between us and 3rd party service providers who may be brought in to deliver key elements of training related to the delivery of specific water sports activities offered as part of the products available at any given venue.
  • Working closely with Asset Management to monitor and manage standards of operators.
  • Support on communication with international manufacturers of equipment chosen for use within the water sports activity programs, as well as with local / regional distributors that may be involved in terms of providing routine equipment maintenance services and arranging periodical equipment replacement as and when required by the master plan.
  • Conduct regular specialist safety audits and program delivery evaluation visits alongside any activity specific 3rd party experts that may be required.
  • Establish internal operational teams and oversee divisional management of business asset outlets.
  • Work alongside RSSE Operational General Manager, and that team, to plan, manage and deliver continued professional development (CPD) sessions for water sports activity program delivery staff as and when required in-line with our appetite to own in-house as DMO hybrid and/or lead with a focused team the 3rd party operators we engage as brand or white label functions across the sporting disciplines.
  • On-going support for the team to ensure the water sports activity programs are delivered in keeping with the overarching sustainability goals as set out in our project master plan.
  • Work alongside Director of Sports & Adventure to engage development Project leaders for the integration of Water Sports related tourism elements into their projects.
  • Attend project meetings, develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress and update existing project database.
  • Create and maintain project presentations.
  • Collate, create, and maintain site visit survey presentations and database.
  • Collate department information and communications to generate internal and external media publications.
  • Possible remote work out of RSSE offices may be required.
  • This is not a 9 to 5 job, if that's what you want, you're in the wrong business.

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department's systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Advanced Powerboat / Safety Boat Certificate
  • VHF Radio Operators License
  • Water Sports Health & Safety Officer
  • Technical Water Sports Operation Management
  • Proven global water sports authority network
  • Proven coach assessment and training skills across marine multi-sports
  • Proven record of working with large format international sports events to leverage brand and develop meaningful educational platforms.
  • ML, RCI, Paddles Sports Coach, or equivalent highest qualification.
  • Qualified Senior instructor andor a dinghy instructor within the last 5 years.
  • Qualified Surf andor SUP instructor.
  • Outdoor First Aid Qualification (min 16 hour)
  • Other national governing awards, RYA Safety Boat, ERCA, RPIOL or APIOL
  • RYA Level 2 Powerboating or equivalent, RYA Advanced power Boating or equivalent, RYA Safety Boat or equivalent

Skills:

  • Ideal candidate will be a positive and proactive individual with a high aptitude for customer care and good leadership skills.
  • You have the capability to motivate and guide along with the ability to develop and build relationships easily, while possessing following additional competencies.
  • Fluency in English and a second language, Arabic is a plus.

  • Experience in youth and adult water sports program area systems, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with ability to learn the internal software program.
