Role Description The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role is responsible for leading mechanical design activities for building and infrastructure projects, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems, from concept through detailed design. Day-to-day tasks include developing and reviewing design calculations, preparing and checking drawings and specifications, coordinating with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The engineer will provide technical guidance to junior team members, support value engineering initiatives, and participate in design reviews, client meetings, and coordination workshops. The role also involves resolving design-related issues during construction, supporting site teams, and contributing to continuous improvement of NEB's mechanical design practices.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong expertise in Mechanical Engineering, with solid knowledge of building services systems and applied engineering principles.
• Candidates should possess skills in Design Engineering and Product Design to develop efficient, safe, and sustainable mechanical solutions for complex projects.
• Candidates should possess skills in Machine Design where applicable to specialized building systems or equipment selection and integration.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms) for creating and reviewing mechanical layouts and details.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; professional registration or membership in a relevant engineering body is an advantage.
• Significant experience in mechanical design for large-scale building or mixed-use projects, preferably within consultancy environments in the Gulf region.
• Strong understanding of international and local building codes, standards, and sustainability guidelines (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, local authority regulations).
• Ability to lead design teams, manage multiple projects, and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders and clients.
