Job Description

Job Purpose

Coordinate the technical design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment associated with piping (Plant) & pipeline construction projects, review technical deliverables, and provide guidance and support to mechanical engineers. Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements while contributing to the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems within pipeline facilities.

Job Duties

Mechanical Engineering Activities

  • Contribute to the development of mechanical engineering requirements for piping (Plant) & pipeline facilities, including pump stations, valve stations, scraper/launcher stations, and associated mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate and review feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and mechanical risk assessments to support project decision-making.
  • Coordinate mechanical equipment design activities under the direction of the Construction Manager/ Project Manager, including equipment sizing, material selection for mechanical components, and evaluation of static and rotating equipment performance.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, datasheets, equipment specifications, and technical documentation related to mechanical systems.
  • Support construction teams by clarifying mechanical design requirements and addressing engineering queries during installation and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in inspections, mechanical completion checks, and verification activities to ensure adherence to mechanical design standards and quality requirements.
  • Review equipment performance calculations and mechanical evaluations to support optimization of mechanical systems.
  • Support in mechanical integrity assessments and contribute to recommendations related to equipment repair, replacement, or maintenance activities.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for mechanical equipment to ensure long-term operational reliability.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Pipeline, Civil, Electrical, I&C, QA/QC, Procurement, Operations) to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth execution of mechanical scopes.
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and mechanical engineering workshops (HAZOP/HAZID).
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, codes, and regulations related to pipeline design, construction, and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 810 years of experience in mechanical engineering within Oil & Gas projects, preferably in piping (Plant) & pipeline construction environments.
  • In-Depth Knowledge of Mechanical Design Codes, Standards, and Regulations.
  • Proficiency in Mechanical Design Software and Engineering Tools.
  • Strong understanding of static equipment design, selection, and performance analysis.
  • Ability To Interpret Engineering Drawings and Specifications.
