Senior Mechanical Engineer – Fit Out

An international engineering consultancy in Dubai is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead technical delivery for complex interior fit-out projects. This role requires a technically astute leader capable of managing end-to-end design—from concept to final authority approval—within corporate office, luxury retail, hospitality, and residential sectors.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the development of comprehensive mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection, specifically tailored for complex fit-out environments.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact, ensuring seamless integration between mechanical designs and architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines.
• Secure all necessary approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from Dubai authorities.
• Oversee the production of detailed shop drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and technical specifications while ensuring full compliance with international standards like ASHRAE and NFPA.
• Manage timelines and budgets, conduct value engineering to optimize costs, and supervise construction administrative duties such as responding to RFIs and processing design addenda.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 8–12 years of post-graduate experience, with at least 2 years specifically within the UAE.
• Fit-out Expertise: Proven track record in managing mechanical systems for high-end interior fit-out projects in the Middle East.
• Advanced skills in Revit MEP for BIM-coordinated design delivery.
• Impeccable oral and written English; ability to present complex technical justifications to clients and high-level stakeholders professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE, or IMechE).
• Experience with sustainability certifications such as LEED or Estidama.
