The Mechanical Site Engineer will represent the Consultant on-site and be responsible for supervising mechanical works to ensure they are executed in accordance with approved drawings,project specifications, contract requirements, local authority regulations, and applicable quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all mechanical works on-site, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, LPG (where applicable), and related MEP systems.
- Ensure all mechanical installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and UAE codes and standards.
- Review contractor's shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.
- Conduct site inspections and witness testing, balancing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Monitor project progress and verify that works are completed according to the approved schedule.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, contractors,and clients to resolve technical issues.
- Issue Site Observation Reports (SORs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and inspection comments where required.
- Verify completed works prior to consultant approvals and payment recommendations.
- Attend site coordination meetings and prepare inspection reports and progress updates.
- Ensure compliance with Civil Defense, EtihadWE, municipality requirements, and other relevant authorities where applicable.
- Review as-built drawings, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and handover documentation.
- Assist the Project Manager or Senior Resident Engineer in site supervision, quality control,and project documentation.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical site supervision and preferably at least 2 years of experience working in UAE/GCC.
- Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments.
- Knowledge of UAE authority regulations and approval procedures.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and MEP drawings and specifications.
- Sound knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Plumbing and drainage systems
- Firefighting systems
- LPG systems (where applicable)
- Chilled water systems (if applicable)
- Familiarity with testing, balancing, and commissioning (TAB) procedures.
- Knowledge of local and international mechanical engineering standards and codes.
